The Haystack: Slicing & Dicing RSS feeds

Seth Godin recently published a very interesting blog post (‘The haystack‘), pointing out the fact that modern search engines are not all that great at vertical searching or ranking. And indeed, Google’s blog search results (or any other search engine for that matter) are usually skewed towards the high traffic sites and hence they can’t deliver the granularity that many users require.

AideRSS on the other hand is a great example of a vertical aggregator which is able to slice and dice the domain specific data and extract the most value out of it for the user. Want to see Seth Godin’s recent performance? No problem, click here. Top stories since late July? Easy, click here!

Blogosphere is a complex beast, and there is plenty of great information hidden inside – we just need to develop the proper tools to find what we’re looking for. It’s a vast frontier, and one we look forward to exploring at AideRSS.
