CM Summit - Federated Media Publishing Get Satisfaction

We’re always pretty jazzed when we’re alerted to cool new stuff that third party developers have done with the PostRank API, and this one is no exception (Ilya’s already downloaded it).

The App Store has just released Daisy Feed, a new, PostRank-powered mobile feed reader for the iPhone or iPod Touch. (Yeah, it’s got lots of fabulous features, but we’re a bit biased…)

With Daisy Feed you can display PostRank-filtered items for all your favourite feeds with one touch. Totally slick — and it’s free!

Big kudos to the Daisy developers. It looks great! And in their own words, they’re just getting warmed up. Can’t wait to see where Daisy Feed goes from here.

Google has launched the new version of iGoogle, their customizable homepage. It looks pretty cool. You can tweak and view and manage pretty much everything from there!

Of course, if you’d like to pipe Google Reader through iGoogle, of course you won’t want to lose the ability to Read What Matters.

Fear not! We’ve updated the AideRSS Google Reader extension, so updating your installed version to the one currently available on our Google Reader Extension page will ensure PostRank keeps working just fine if you use Google Reader within iGoogle.

Maintenance & Preparing for the big launch

We’re nearing a big update of the AideRSS service (stay tuned!), which also means a lot of criss-crossing wires while we update all of our infrastructure behind the scenes. We don’t expect any scheduled downtime while this work is being done, but an occasional hiccup is possible - like the one yesterday, on our PostRank API, our apologies for the inconvenience!

Hence, if you see any erratic behavior on our web-site or the API’s, please let us know.

And AideRSS is a key partner!

So what is it?

The CM Toolbox is the industry’s first open conversational marketing measurement platform for tracking and analyzing conversational marketing campaigns.

Basically, marketing has changed, thanks to the Internet. It’s become a lot more interactive and conversational (companies aim to talk with you rather than just at you).

However, this means that traditional methods of monitoring and measuring marketing efforts — like campaigns — don’t work very well anymore. And until now there hasn’t been a great replacement set of tools to manage campaign rollouts and measure their performance.

FM has developed a detailed methodology for measuring campaign success by organizing campaign data into Engagement, Amplification and Equity categories. Organized in this way, the CM Toolbox helps brands and agencies understand the effectiveness of their conversational marketing activities with a customized, dynamic portal through which marketers can view all potential marketing metrics and data points.

AideRSS’ PostRank technology fits into the Engagement category, of course, and lets companies move beyond just measuring pageviews, click-throughs, and subscriber rates. They can see and analyze where consumers are engaging with their campaign efforts all over the Internet, and gauge consumer reaction to them.

Companies like American Express, Best Buy, and Dell no longer have to wait until after campaigns are completed to measure their success, or, worse, take a guess based on poking around the Internet. They can track how campaigns are doing from the time they launch. Wider availability of the CM Toolbox is scheduled for Q1 of 2009.

We’re really excited here at AideRSS for our technology to be part of the Toolbox, and think PostRank engagement analysis is an essential part of how companies should connect with and better serve their audiences.

Additionally, the Toolbox also gives advertisers greater confidence in spending online. This is even more important in an uncertain economic climate, since marketing spending is often among the first slashed. This is despite the fact that it’s been oft-proven that companies that invest in marketing during economic uncertainty reap significant benefits from it.

Hey, glad we could help. :)

Milestones

100 million PostRanks! Ahh, ahh, aaaaaahhh! This morning we passed 100 million PostRanks served. That’s 100,000,000 for those who like things numerical. w00t!

What’s especially cool is that that’s not even 100 million PostRanks served since the company launched. That’s 100 million since our PostRank launch in July! That’s 79 days, or just shy of 1,265,823 PostRanks per day. (Of course things have ramped up over time.)

Being the ambitious sorts that we are, we’re already looking forward to our 1 billionth PostRank served. (Based on North American number schemes, since we never could figure how the British count those big numbers…)
