CM Summit - Federated Media Publishing Get Satisfaction

As promised, here are a couple of upcoming conferences where Ilya will be presenting.

On April 6th, he’ll be at meshU in Toronto. He’ll be presenting on Event-Driven Architectures in the Development stream.

He’ll also be at the Golden Gate Ruby Conference, April 17-18, presenting on Ruby Proxies for Scale, Performance, and Monitoring

Which is our charming way of saying: please join us in welcoming Steven to AideRSS!

He’s been here a week already, but he’s been busy… we’ve been busy… you know how it gets. However, he’s here and we’ve got his nose to the grindstone, and that’s what’s important.

You can learn all about him on our About page (photo coming soon - no, we aren’t hiding him because he’s circus folk).

Welcome to AideRSS, Steven, and we’re looking forward to making beautiful… code-based things… together. :)

I feel all fancy…

The wise and charming Dave Fleet (he is, I’ve met him, and he brought me a beer!) has compiled a list of 40 PR-Related People To Follow On Twitter, and was kind enough to include me in the Social Media people section.

Inclusions among professionals and thought leaders in the space continue to make me feel a bit weird, partly, I’m sure, since I’ve only been in this role for eight months, and before that I wasn’t working anywhere near social media (or even in the tech biz, really). Follow your passions, folks! It leads to good things. :)

However, I’m loving that I learn new things every day, and keep expanding my social and professional spheres with interesting people (like the others on the list — well worth a follow if you twitter). It all remains a bit overwhelming for an introvert, but I’m getting better at enjoying people in person and not just online, though.

Anyway, thanks again to Dave, and feel free to say hello. I’m @aiderss for work and @melle otherwise.

Where in the world is the AideRSS crew?

It’s time for another round of reporting our whereabouts out in the world.

On February 17th, Carol will be presenting at Third Tuesday Toronto at Fionn McCool’s. She’ll be talking about how a startup in the social media world can not just survive but thrive in these tough times. (And maybe drop some juicy hints about what the AideRSS crew has been working on…) Read more at ProPR.ca. And don’t forget to RSVP!

At 10am on March 16th in Austin, Melanie will be presenting at SXSW Interactive on the panel Beyond Aggregation — Finding the Web’s Best Content with Louis Gray, Marshall Kirkpatrick, and Micah Baldwin. (Exact time slot TBD.) She’ll be talking about how to handle all the info that’s out there… and mostly just trying to get a word in edgewise. ;)

Ilya has a couple of appearances coming up as well, and we’ll post about those as soon as we have details.

Canada’s Most Influential People in Social Media

In keeping with Dave’s intent with the project, it’s cool to see those included in the list fall into categories beyond marketing and the like. In Ilya’s case, the popularity of his blog helped secure his position at #5 on the Most Influential Men list. Congratulations!

Congratulations, too, to Jacqui Murphy from Tech Capital, Ben Watson of Overlay.TV (another of Tech Capital’s portfolio companies), and the other folks recognized!
